All about the Waste-to-Fuel Program for the City of Manteca WQCF

When it came to turning the City of Manteca, CA’s existing food ‘waste’ into a ‘useful’ cost-benefiting means of fuel for the city’s vehicles, the team at HERWIT Engineering was up to the task of designing a solution. The Waste-to-Fuel Program for the City of Manteca WQCF has successfully generated methane from anaerobic digestion of food waste and, in doing so, has put The City of Manteca way ahead of schedule in terms of meeting the recent standards set forth by the State of California to reduce food waste entering landfills and provide an incentive to leave diesel engines behind in the quest for cleaner air.
